Application


Texas MGMA is soliciting webinars to be considered during the 2016-2017 year. It is Texas MGMA's goal to offer 1 webinar per month to its members. The following provides more detailed information with regards to the webinar content, presenter responsibilities, evaluation process and services offered by Texas MGMA. 

Please note that you must be a Texas MGMA member in order for your webinar to be considered. 


Webinar Content

  • The webinar must include topics valuable to healthcare administration. The content should address issues, raise important questions, solve problems or provide practical knowledge and innovative approaches that deliver results. Texas MGMA will not accept webinars intended solely to promote commercial products or services.

Presenter Responsibilities

  1. Complete the Webinar Application.
  2. Provide a PowerPoint presentation to be used as the visual part of the webinar.
    1. This must be submitted at least two weeks in advance of the webinar; content will be reviewed and sent to necessary members.
    2. The provided PowerPoint presentation must use an approved Texas MGMA template.
    3. The text within the presentation must be written in the presenter's own words and accompanied by his/her own images. Any text or images taken from other sources must include credit through appropriate citations. 
  3. Participate in at least one training for the webinar.
    1. The presenter's PowerPoint presentation will be used during the training to familiarize him/her with all webinar logistics.
  4. Identify a back-up presenter should an emergency occur on the presenter's scheduled webinar date.
    1. Acceptance of a webinar is based on the content and the presenter named at the time of submission. Any changes to content or presenter must be conveyed to Texas MGMA in advance. The Texas MGMA Education Committee reserves the right to reassess suitability.
  5. Refrain from "selling on the platform".
    1.  The distribution and sale of promotional materials and touting of commercial ventures which may personally or financially benefit the presenter is not permitted within the context of the presentation. 
  6. Abide by the timeline set by Texas MGMA and meet all deadlines to the best of his/her ability.

Evaluation Process

Once submitted, the webinar application will be reviewed by the Texas MGMA Education Committee for consideration. The presenter will be notified of Texas MGMA’s decision regarding his/her webinar application within a month of submission. The application will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Innovation, creativity and originality of topic
  • Clarity, depth and specificity of proposal
  • Timeliness and relevance of subject matter
  • Practical applicability of topic to healthcare administrators
  • Qualifications, expertise and experience level of the named presenter

Any application that fails to meet all guidelines or is incomplete will not be considered for review. Texas MGMA will not accept phone calls or emails regarding the status of an application at any time during the selection process. 


Services Offered by Texas MGMA

  • Marketing - Texas MGMA will market the webinar by showcasing the presenter and his/her organization.
  • Assistance - Texas MGMA is available to help the presenter in the planning and/or presentation of the webinar.
  • Logistics - The presenter will be provided with background information and guidelines to ensure the PowerPoint presentation is appropriate for this virtual setting.
  • Technical Support - Texas MGMA will use GoToWebinar to host the webinar. Texas MGMA staff will handle all technical aspects of the webinar including training the presenter and monitoring/assisting with the entire live webinar to assure the highest quality presentation.

In exchange for positive visibility of the presenter and his/her organization with our members at no cost, Texas MGMA will not provide any honorarium nor reimburse expenses.
