Can My Practice Negotiate with a Managed Care Payer?

Most medical practices do not negotiate their managed care contracts. However, many practices have successfully increased practice revenues by developing a sound negotiation strategy and then going out and implementing the strategy. Using a process format, this presentation will provide information on how to develop new methodologies for reimbursement and related negotiation strategies. This includes how to identify and use the all-important negotiation leverage points, including the use of data analytics to support your negotiation.

This talk will discuss how to resolve conflicts with patients, staff, and even how to discuss sticky contract law issues with confidence and resolve.  Sometimes when emotions get involved, it’s hard to see the clear picture.  This talk will go over when to hold firm and when to let things go, and some tips on how to diffuse emotions so that real negotiation and resolution can begin.  Many times, patients just want to be heard, and the conflict is secondary.  Ms. Hill will also discuss some of the biggest sticking points in contract negotiations and typical resolutions to reach middle ground.
